Ha, there’s plenty of didgeridoo in aboriginal music but I hope you don’t mean contemporary pop music by Australian artists or something! Mainstream music with didgeridoo in would be considered pretty tacky appropriation I think.

Absolutely took advantage of abusing bands from Australia for the DJ’s playlist, like INXS, ACDC, Men At Work, Midnight Oil. But I tried to also include classier Australian bands like Xavier Rudd, Goanna, and Billy Thorpe.

I’m pretty okay with a couple of my didgeridoo selections, even if a little maybe appropriated: Jamiroquai and Aphex Twin uses the instrument and it sounds wicked.

I tried to pay proper tribute, though, with Paul Kelly, Harper & Midwest Kind, The Church, and Nick Cave.

Salk Off The Earth use a didgeridoo in their covers of “Royals” and “Material Girl”. Strongly suggest checking them out (repping Canada, country #2 of tbe Commonwealth in this thread alone :) )
