Insurance and/or workers compensation should include spouses with debilitating chronic incurable illnesses. It sure stops you from working too. But some good attorney would say that it’s your choice to take care of yourself and not work. And that attorney probably does not have a life or children or property or a spouse. #WorkFromHomeProblems

Having separate browsers for work and life is so nice. Especially when you don’t have a separate business phone. And much safer for password protection.

Lost my primary hard drive. Felt like I lost part of my heart. Then got a migraine. Wished someone would have taken part of my brain.

Saturday will be a long day. In-laws in town. Wife’s birthday. Tension over the data extraction. Will be something to look back on and laugh about one day.

#Dashboard #Custom “Think outside the box.” N o. Ask box, “why, what box, and who cares.” Came up with some ideas with members of our team. Started doing research. And more research. And completely miss the fact it if you have a little bit programming knowledge then optimizing your automated systems in a unified area, AKA a dashboard, AND IT BE CUSTOMIZED AND SCALABLE is easy. It’s a whole lot cheaper than a third party who is going to charge $19 a month per user in a company. Just throwing out there that your automated systems, which small companies and Freelancers is the only way to survive right now can be a lot easier. Take 4 days make your own dashboard. Reports and instant information and sales tracking and project tracking optimized

Windows 10 Super Admin unlocked and screwed up my system. I now have triplicate everything. Down for 5 days. And I was in the middle of transferring to a cloud based system. Hope to finalize that Monday. Here’s the big question, after I go cloud do I wipe Win10 and fresh install; or dump as much as possible then expand out the profiles (for testing) and add more VM’s of another OS to do more app #development & #testing locally?

Spent 4+ hours recovering my computer. Definitely will finish going full cloud after the new year holiday. Wonder how much #SaaS I can optimize? Doing the UX for the newest site right now.

Finished another site, at 3:30 am to meet the deadline. Forgot how complicated intakes can get with conditionals.

And my wife’s had migraines 3 of 5 days this week.

It’s refreshing to do a site that’s not the same ol’ business type of #WordPress

Built out half of a demo app. Meeting with the US senator and the Governor tomorrow. My partner isn’t going to show up. #FML

Could not figure out why my wireless printer was not printing. Went in to the settings, after trying a bunch of other things, and my cat changed my settings. She’s long had a fascination with the printer. Anytime she hears it printing she runs from the other end of the house to come attack the paper as it comes out. I’ve seen her tap the screen to hear the beeping noise. #WorkingFromHomeProblems

Why is it more difficult to write about yourself than someone else or another company? Having to “research” myself per our intake form. Sort of weird feeling.

Repaired my first push mower today. 4 hours. 4 hours. Will be so happy when I am back programming at a desk job!

In case anyone looks at their programming life and thinks, “I’m going to go get a job with a drill. Seems way more satisfying.” Remember, the next morning your whole body will hurt. And you will likely look to your computer and remember that a desk job really isn’t a terrible idea. You feel better, you smell better, you’re not too tired at the end of the day to pull yourself together enough to shower before collapsing in the bed.

*disclaimer: I am in better shape than most people, I did stretch a lot yesterday and once last night before bed,....and I was doing repairs only on my own home and yard. Certainly could have been much more intensive work had I been working for a less compassionate boss than my wife.

Dear Web UI/UX Designers, can we start using multi-colored Mobile Navigation Icon (stacked bars) colors? It would really help the visibility when the background color changes.

WP themes that are heavily dependant on plugins will almost always fail. Please stop developing that way if you are doing so. I will pay more for solid themes!

Had to call hosting company to see why a WP migration had stalled. Never got a reason on the why. Still sort of confused about WHY it happened. Any ideas? They resolved it by having me set up a new temp domain. Ideas?

Created a new client intake form on my site. It’s the only thing on the new site! Can’t wait to finish everything though. Milestone completions feel great again.

Transferring client sites from GoDaddy shared hosting to “managed WordPress”. Takes longer than you think. After it’s all done you still have to go in and reinstall plug-ins, fix broken code, redo settings, and reassign authorship to users. Whew.
